Once more with feeling

A couple of weeks ago Chris Lambert and I had a bit of a cultural exchange thing - I showed him some Farscape, he showed me some Buffy and Angel.

Now, I'm still not a big fan of Buffy - I think some of the actors are painful to watch, and the series as a whole is too reliant on repetitive action. But we watched some good episodes, including the infamous genre-bending musical episode.

Leaving the merits and drawbacks of that particular episode aside for now, one of the episode's moments of greatness was a simple, catchy, yet piercingly accurate lyric that's been stuck in my head ever since:

Life's a song you don't get to rehearse,
And every single verse,
Can make it that much worse.

That's pretty much my life in a nutshell right now.

Update: Entry amended to remark that I didn't mean to sound too negative. Just floundering a bit under a heavy workload, is all.

I was sorry to read that: I you're OK and looking after yourself. This will cheer you up: I found a big box of old letters I recieved from all sorts of people- between about 1993-96 at my gran's this weekend! Sadly didn't have time to look through it, but I did pull one of yours out to take back with me, and it was highly entertaining reading!!! We had some kind of sci-fi fantasy role play game going on at one stage by the looks of it. Completely forgot about that. And you's just bought a spectrum from a carboot sale. It also includes a list of TV programmes you hated then, most of which were GMTV, and at least 3 of which I have no recollection of at all...It's dated 17th June 1994.
